1. Who We Are

VittaFide ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile app made specifically for Indian small business owners (shopkeepers, traders, and service providers) to easily manage their daily business.

VittaFide works completely offline. Your business data stays only on your phone. We do not have any servers, and we never collect, see, or store your personal or business data.

2. What Data We Collect

VittaFide only saves the data that you manually type into the app. We never copy anything from your phone without your permission.

Types of Data You Enter:

Business Profile: Your business name, address, and phone number.
Customer Data: Customer names, phone numbers, and addresses.
Khata (Ledger) Data: Credit given (udhar), payments received, due dates, and notes.
Sales & Bills: Item names, quantities, prices, and discounts.
Expenses: Expense amount, category, date, and payment mode.
Inventory: Product names, prices, and available stock.
Security PIN: Your 4-digit lock PIN (saved safely as a secret code, never as normal numbers).
App Settings: Light/Dark mode, reminder times, and backup choices.

3. How We Collect Data — Feature-by-Feature

3.1 Onboarding (First Setup)

What happens: We show you how to use the app. Data collected: None. The app just remembers that you finished the setup.

3.2 Business Profile

What happens: You enter your business details. Why it's needed: To print your shop's name and details on the bills you give to customers. Storage: Saved securely on your phone.

3.3 Digital Khata (Customer Ledger)

What happens: You record credit (udhar) and payments. Data saved locally: Customer details, total due amounts, payment history, and dates.

3.4 Trust Score System

What happens: The app gives each customer a score (0–100) based on how fast they pay you back. Important: This score is calculated on your phone. It is only for you to see. We never share it with anyone or any credit bureau.

3.5 Vasool Raja (Collection Priority)

What happens: The app shows you which customers you should ask for money first. Data used: Only the due dates and amounts already saved on your phone.

3.6 Quick Sale (Bill Generation)

What happens: You create bills and can share them via WhatsApp or email. Data saved locally: Bill details (items, prices, customer name). The PDF is created on your phone and shared directly by you. We do not track where you send it.

3.7 Saved Bills & 3.8 Expense Tracking

What happens: You can view old bills and track your shop's daily expenses (rent, electricity, etc.). Data saved locally: Only the expenses and old bill records you enter.

3.9 Product Catalog & Inventory

What happens: You manage your shop's stock. Data saved locally: Product names, prices, and a permanent history of stock changes (items added or sold).

3.10 Apna CA (Business Insights)

What happens: The app acts as your personal accountant, showing you profit charts, top-selling items, and business health. Important: All calculations happen on your phone. No data is sent to the internet or any outside AI servers.

3.11 Dashboard & 3.12 PIN Lock

What happens: The home screen shows your total business health. You can lock the app with a 4-digit PIN. Security: Your PIN is locked with high-level math (hashing). We never save the actual numbers, so no one can steal your PIN. If someone types the wrong PIN too many times, the app locks them out temporarily.

3.13 Biometric Authentication (Fingerprint/Face)

What happens: You can unlock the app using your fingerprint or face. Security: This is handled completely by your phone's system. VittaFide never sees or records your fingerprint or face.

3.14 Due Reminders & 3.16 Camera

Reminders: The app sets a local alarm on your phone to remind you to collect dues. Camera: Used only if you want to scan product barcodes. We never take photos or save videos.

3.15 & 3.17 Backup, Restore, Excel Export & Settings

(See Section 10 for complete Backup and Excel export details). The Settings page only saves your personal app choices like Dark mode, backup times and your printer.

3.18 Thermal Receipt Printing

What happens: You can print bills on a Bluetooth thermal printer you have paired with your phone. Data used: Only the bill being printed, sent straight from your phone to that printer. The app connects only to the printer you pick in Settings → Printer, and never uses Bluetooth to find your location.

3.19 Product Photos and Shop Logo

What happens: You pick a photo through Android's own photo picker. The app gets only the photo you choose and keeps a compressed copy inside the app.

4. How Data Is Stored

Local Database: All your data is saved in a secure, hidden database on your phone. Other apps cannot read it.

No Cloud Storage: We do not have any servers. Every single piece of information lives only on your Android device.

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

We want to be completely clear. We never collect:

Your phone's IMEI or serial numbers.
Your phone contacts (phonebook).
Your GPS location.
Your location by any other means: Bluetooth is used only to talk to your printer.
Your internet browsing history.
Your bank account, credit card, or UPI PINs.
Fingerprint or face data.
App usage tracking or ads (VittaFide has no ads).

6. Permissions We Request and Why

Notifications: To remind you to collect dues. (Optional)
Restart after reboot: To put your reminders and nightly backup back on schedule when the phone restarts.
Fingerprint/Face: To let you unlock the app easily. (Optional)
Camera: To scan product barcodes. (Optional)
Nearby devices (Bluetooth): To connect to your thermal receipt printer. (Optional) On Android 12 and above this is BLUETOOTH_CONNECT and BLUETOOTH_SCAN, marked as never used for location; on Android 11 and below, Android's older Bluetooth permissions.
Files and photos: Chosen by you through Android's own file and photo pickers. The app asks for no storage or photo permission.
Background work: Android adds small permissions for the nightly backup scheduler (keeping the phone awake briefly, running background work, checking network state). None of them lets the app send data.

Internet: VittaFide DOES NOT ask for internet permission. The app physically cannot send data online.

7. How Data Is Used

Your data is used only to run the app on your phone (like showing you charts, making bills, and creating your backup file). We never use your data for marketing, ads, or selling to other companies.

8. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We Share Nothing. Because the app has no internet connection, it is impossible for us to share your data. When you share a PDF bill on WhatsApp or Email, you are doing it through your phone's system, not through our servers.

9. Data Security

Your PIN is highly encrypted.
Your data is locked inside Android's safe zone.
Because the app has no internet access, hackers cannot steal your data online.

Recommendation: Always keep a screen lock on your phone for extra safety.

10. Backup & Restore Feature (Important Device Rules)

How Backups Work:

You can create a Manual Backup anytime, or let the app do an Auto Backup every night. The app creates a secure .zip file containing all your business data and saves it on your phone.

Restoring a Backup:

Restoring replaces your current app data completely with the old backup file.
Always create a fresh backup of your current data before restoring an older one.
Old Backup Auto-Update: If you restore an old backup made before our new security updates, the app will automatically upgrade it to the new safe format during the restore process.

Device Backup vs. Portable Backup

VittaFide gives you two ways to back up your data:

Device Backup (.zip): Locked using your specific phone's unique hardware security (KeyStore). It CANNOT be restored on a different phone — this is intentional, so a stolen backup file can't be opened by anyone else. It's designed to help you recover your data on the same phone (for example, if you accidentally uninstall the app or reset your phone).
Portable Backup (.vkbak): Lets you easily transfer your shop's data to a new phone. Create one from Settings, transfer the .vkbak file to your new phone (over WhatsApp, Google Drive, email, or any method you choose), and restore it there.

Important Privacy Warning: Because a Portable Backup (.vkbak) file is designed to be portable across phones, it is NOT encrypted while it is in transit or sitting in another app or service (like Google Drive or WhatsApp). Anyone who gets hold of this file can read your shop's business data. You are fully responsible for keeping your .vkbak file safe — only share it through channels you trust, and delete it once you no longer need it.

Excel Export

Export to Excel creates a spreadsheet of your data that you can open in other apps. Like a Portable Backup, it is not encrypted: keep it safe and share it only with people you trust.

Tip: Renaming Your Backup File

You're free to rename a .vkbak file when saving it (for example, MyShopData.vkbak), but the file name must keep the .vkbak extension at the end. If you remove or change the extension, the app will not recognize the file when you try to restore it.

11. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data stays on your phone as long as you keep the app.

To delete specific items: You can delete bills or khata entries inside the app.
To delete everything forever: Simply uninstall the app, or go to Android Settings and click "Clear Data".

Warning: Because we don't have your data, we cannot help you recover it if you delete it without taking a backup first.

12. Your Rights as a User

Since everything is on your phone, you are in 100% control. You can view, edit, delete, or export your data anytime. You don't need to request us to close an account — just uninstall the app.

13. Children's Privacy

This app is strictly for business owners (18 years and older). We do not collect data from children.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we update this policy, we will change the "Last Updated" date at the top. Since the app is offline, the latest policy will always be available on the app's Google Play and Indus Appstore pages.

15. Feedback & Reviews

If you voluntarily submit feedback through our in-app feedback forms, we may collect your Business Name, City, and feedback details to help us understand and improve the app. Submitting feedback is entirely optional — opening the feedback form takes you to your phone's own browser, outside the app itself. We never sell this information.
